What will happen next?

I am curious to know what will happen next. Many people think that Obama will be lenient and the stereotypical African American. The day that he was elected, I received many text messages. One of them said, "There's going to be a picnic in front of the White House. So bring your watermelon, liquor, and your own blunt." I thought it was funny just like the Carlos Mencia video. I didn't take it seriously because I think that Obama will make a change. However, there are some people who believe that the comments and video is a true description on how the government is going to be. There are many reasons why people think this way:
  1. They're ignorant
  2. Although this is just a stereotype for blacks, they're forgetting that he is part white
  3. They have nothing else better to do

Well, the only way to find out the truth is just to wait and see.

Obama Supporters

It's amazing how so many people are Obama supporters. No matter where I go, I see Obama shirts. I actually have one of my own. It has Obama and Martin Luther King. The caption underneath reads, The Dream Is Real. I recently discovered that there are Obama sneakers, such as Air Forces and Keds.

President-Elect

Yay! I'm glad that we (African Americans) have finally made history. On Nov. 4, 2008 I screamed when I heard the good news that Obama was going to be our next president. It felt like a dream. In fact, it was a dream; a dream that finally came true. Some people make jokes about how things are going to be different, now that a black person is going to be in office. One of these remarks were made on the Mind of Mencia Show

Pro-Obama

First of, I would like to say I am proud that an African American male is running for president and I hope he wins. McCain seems to keep reinforcing the fact that Obama is trying to spread the wealth. I honestly see nothing wrong with that. We NEED to spread the wealth. I mean come on,look at the poor people who are sleeping on the church steps, bus stops, and everywhere else. I also like Obama's stance on health care. Lowering the health care cost by $2,500 would be a very good idea. Although McCain is a few points down in Ohio, he told them that he's coming back. Lets see what happens, not just in Ohio, but everywhere on Nov.4
